Internship Requirements

In each of the training courses (Puppy Pre-School, Bronze and Silver) the intern will be required to undertake the following:

- Observe one full program (7 weeks)

- Assist with one full program (7 weeks)

- Assisting in various aspects of the class as instructed

- Co-teach one full program (7 weeks)

- In cooperation with the instructor, various aspects of each class will be taught by the intern on the condition that the intern is assessed to be competent to do so

- In the Bronze level training program the intern will be required to co-teach one program with dogs under 6 months and one program with adult dogs. An option to observe, assist and co-teach in the Gold class may also be undertaken.

Training Diary

The intern will maintain and submit a training diary (proforma supplied) detailing classes attended, aims of the programs, management issues, special considerations and a self-evaluation for each.  The diary should contain comments about all aspects of training undertaken by the intern i.e. pet dog programs, private consultations and training of the intern’s own dog.  Any extracurricular meetings attended, seminars, demonstrations etc relevant to dog training should also be listed.

 



Notice

The course modules for this program of study are operated completely through CASI. The Internship Module is operated completely independently of CASI and involves a relationship between the intern and the professional train selected. Tuition is handled independently through each separate relationship.
